A line of 'save or suck' spells for disabling armoured combatants.

Ray of Mild Stiffness

Transmutation
Wiz/Sor 1
Components: VSM
Casting time: 1 std. action
Range: Close
Effect: Ray
Duration: 1 minute
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes

You blast your armoured foe with a beam of brown light. Suddenly, she finds her armour stiff and restrictive...

You must target a creature who is wearing armour. On a successful ranged touch attack, the target's armour stiffens. The target creature suffers the following penalties:

  • Penalty on attack rolls equal to half their armour check penalty.
  • All armour check penalties to skill checks are doubled.

The target can attempt to break the effect using a Strength check (DC 15 + caster level.) Doing so requires a full round action.

Material component: A pinch of gelatine.

Ray of Firm Stiffness

Casting time: 1 std. action
Range: Close
Effect: Ray
Duration: 1 minute
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes

You must target a creature who is wearing armour. On a successful ranged touch attack, the target's armour stiffens. The target creature suffers the following penalties:

  • Penalty on attack rolls equal to half their armour check penalty.
  • All armour check penalties to skill checks are doubled.
  • The target's Dexterity and Dodge bonuses to AC, if any, are halved (round down.)

The target can attempt to break the effect using a Strength check (DC 15 + caster level.) Doing so requires a full round action.

Material component: A small bone.

You must target a creature who is wearing armour. On a successful ranged touch attack, the target's armour stiffens. The target creature suffers the following penalties:

  • Penalty on attack rolls equal to half their armour check penalty.
  • All armour check penalties to skill checks are doubled.
  • The target's move speed is halved.
  • The target is denied their Dexterity and Dodge bonuses to AC.

The target can attempt to break the effect using a Strength check (DC 15 + caster level.) Doing so requires a standard round action.

Material component: A teaspoon of cement.

Ray of Unyielding Stiffness

Duration: 1 minute
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes

You must target a creature who is wearing armour. On a successful ranged touch attack, the target's armour stiffens. The target creature suffers the following penalties:

  • Penalty on attack rolls equal to their armour check penalty.
  • All armour check penalties to skill checks are doubled.
  • The target cannot take 5-foot steps. The target's move speed is reduced to 5 ft.
  • The target is denied their Dexterity and Dodge bonuses to AC.

The target can attempt to break the effect using a Strength check (DC 15 + caster level.) Doing so requires a standard round action.

Material component: A small blue lozenge.
