A compact, reliable, Railcraft cow farm

The only maintenance requirement is to refill the wheat supply every so often. Apart from that, no maintenance is required.
The design is reliable, with no stoppages due to cows wandering onto the rail tracks - avoiding a common problem with other designs.
It’s easier to do this in MineFactory Reloaded (using the Breeder, Chronotype and Grinder), but there’s a certain charm to using Railcraft instead.
Railcraft provides for a really nice machine where you can see (and hear!) a minecart running around between stations. It’s great fun to see cows being carried around in a minecart!
The design drawings have been painstakingly drawn in Microsoft Visio.
- A block diagram shows an overview of the system’s operation.
- A bill of materials tells you exactly what you’ll need to gather for the build.
- A general arrangement shows you the overall shape and dimensions of the build.
- Three sheets of drawings show the details of each major assembly, including the small details you need to pay attention to.
- A construction and commissioning checklist makes sure you won’t forget anything, so you can get the build right the first time.
